The Calgary Social Media Breakfast (SMBYYC) is pleased to announce Kyle Shewfelt as the August presenter.

This month's topic is:

Inspiring Excellence with Social Media

In this engaging and uplifting presentation, Kyle connects us to our potential for excellence. By sharing some of his adventures (and mis-adventures) through the athletic world and blogosphere, he shows us how social media can play a role in inspiration. It'll make you laugh. It'll make you cry. It'll make you think. It'll make you jumpy clap. Basically, It'll rock your world!

Seating is limited and fills up quickly so hurry to RSVP on Eventbrite.com. Seats will be released in increments to give everyone fair access to the event. 50 seats will be available immediately and 50 more will be released on Friday, August 12th at 12:00 PM. (Registration will be taken at the event.)

Stay after the discussion to network and share ideas in the realm of social media. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new-media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend.

About the guest speaker:

Kyle Shewfelt

@kyleshew is a serial optimist who believes in the power of a high five! He is a 3 time Olympian and Olympic Gold Medallist in the sport of gymnastics and was recently inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. Retired from competition in 2009, he is now a professional speaker, live event host, broadcaster and performance coach. Kyle is uber passionate about impact and he thinks this world would be pretty rad if everyone loved what they did and felt driven to achieve their ultimate potential. He is an ambassador with @RightToPlayCAN and part of the @awesome_calgary foundation. He can also do a pretty sweet handstand ;) Read Kyle's blog at kyleshewfelt.blogspot.com.

About SMBYYC

The SMBYYC houses an open environment to share today’s best and worst examples of social media, as practiced by individuals, industries and organizations in Calgary and around the world. Guest speakers share their experience and expertise of social media use, followed by an opportunity to network with a community of like-minded individuals.

The SMB was founded by Bryan Person in August 2007 as an event for social media newbies and experts to come together to eat, meet, share and learn. The breakfast series began in Boston and has now spread to more than three dozen cities around the world. The Calgary chapter of the SMB was started by Scott Baird of McQDesign Strategies.
